The United Gulf Bank (B.S.C.) EC is the investment banking arm and a subsidiary of KIPCO. It started operations as an offshore commercial bank in March 1980. Soon after, on June 14, 1980, it obtained its commercial registration and subsequently, on September 19, 1998, the bank was transformed in to an investment bank.
The bank's activities comprise of asset management, corporate finance, investment in private and quoted equities and funds, real estate treasury and selective commercial banking services. UGB manages its positions in direct investments, public equities and fixed securities through a carefully balanced combination of in-house and independent portfolio managers.
Burgan Bank
Burgan Bank was established in 1977 as a public shareholding company. Despite the fact that it is the youngest commercial bank in Kuwait, today it ranks among the top Kuwaiti banks. Burgan Bank offers both retail and commercial banking services and is active in the Gulf region and internationally.
The turning point for Burgan Bank came in the year 1997. The privatisation process of the Kuwaiti government, which began in the same year, reduced government ownership from 61% to less than 10% stake. KIPCO now represents the single largest ownership of the bank. The change in ownership paved the way for a natural change in the strategic focus and management style.
Presently, the bank is committed to developing its private banking activities with innovative and diversified investment and financial products, enhancing treasury operations, increasing syndication activities, and expanding the bank's retail products.
United Real Estate Company
The United Real Estate Company S.A.K. (URC) is one of the prominent real estate companies of the Middle East region. It was established in 1973 in Kuwait.
The URC management has considerable knowledge and experience in property investments. It also has extensive experience in renting and managing numerous commercial and residential properties in Kuwait. URC is the developer of the prestigious Marina Mall, one of the largest BOT projects in the sector. The company has also developed various hotels and residential complexes abroad.

The Gulf Insurance Company (GIC) was established in 1962 and is one of Kuwait's most prominent insurance companies. GIC has its head office in Business District, Kuwait.
GIC offers a range of insurance products, such as marine and aviation, fire insurance, general accident coverage, employee compensation, all-risk insurance for the construction industry, public liability, cash in transit, personal accident, third party and comprehensive motor insurance.
