Samer Subhi Khanachet Samer Subhi Khanachet
Group Chief Operating Officer

Mr Khanachet joined KIPCO as General Manager in 1990. He moved to the United States in 1991 to run United Gulf Management, KIPCO's US subsidiary, to identify strategic resources to support KIPCO's activities in financial services, media and other sectors across the MENA region. He was appointed KIPCO's Chief Operating Officer in 2008. He is Chairman of Takaud Savings & Pensions and a Board member of Burgan Bank, United Gulf Bank and United Real Estate. He holds board and committee positions with the American University of Kuwait and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He holds two BSc degrees from MIT and an MBA from Harvard University.


Masaud Mahmoud Jowhar Hayat Masaud Mahmoud Jowhar Hayat
Chief Executive Officer, Banking

Mr Hayat joined KIPCO as CEO, Banking in 2010. He has served the KIPCO Group in a number of key positions since 1997 and has extensive experience in the region's banking and asset management sector. He is responsible for the development of KIPCO's banking and financial services businesses. He is Chairman of United Gulf Bank, Syria Gulf Bank and Tunis International Bank and Vice Chairman of Gulf Bank Algeria, North Africa Holding Company and Royal Capital Group. He is a Board member of Jordan Kuwait Bank, Bank of Baghdad and KAMCO. He is also a Board member and Board Secretary of the Union of Investment Companies. Mr Hayat is a graduate of Kuwait University and the Institute of Banking Studies, Kuwait.


Tariq Mohammad Abdulsalam Tariq Mohammad Abdulsalam
Chief Executive Officer, Investments

Mr Abdulsalam joined KIPCO as CEO, Investments in January, 2011. He first
joined KIPCO in 1992 and from 1996 was Head of KIPCO's Investment Division.
In 1999, he became the General Manager of KAMCO. In 2006, he joined the
United Real Estate Company (URC) as CEO and in 2010 became Chairman
and CEO. He was Chairman of Burgan Bank from 2007 to 2010 and has held
Board positions at KAMCO, United Gulf Bank, Kuwait Bahrain Insurance
Company and Gulf Insurance Company. He is Chairman of United Real Estate
Company and Vice Chairman of the Kuwait Clearing Company and a Board
member of Jordan Kuwait Bank and the North Africa Holding Company.
Mr Abdulsalam holds a BSc in Accounting from Kuwait University.


Pinak Maitra Pinak Maitra
Group Chief Financial Officer

Mr Maitra joined KIPCO in 1988. He was appointed Vice President/Financial Controller in 1991 and Group Chief Financial Officer in 1996. He is a member of the Group's risk management and strategy development team. He is also responsible for long range planning, performance analysis and budget evaluation of KIPCO Group companies. He is a Board member of Burgan Bank, the Orbit Showtime Network and Pulsar Knowledge Centre. Prior to joining KIPCO, he worked for Arthur Young International. He won the MENA Private Sector CFO of the Year award In 2008 and in 2011 won the MENA region CFO of ICAEW Year award. Mr Maitra is a graduate of Osmania University, India.


Khaled Abdul Jabbar Al Sharrad Khaled Abdul Jabbar Al Sharrad
Group Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer

Mr Al Sharrad joined KIPCO in June 2012. Prior to this, he served as Head of Human Resources at the Kuwait Foreign Trading Contracting Investment Company (KFTCIC). In 1995, he joined KIPCO as Head of Human Resources and Administration. In 2000, Mr Al Sharrad joined KAMCO where he served as Senior Executive Vice President of Human Resource Management & Development and Administration. He was also Secretary to KAMCO’s Board of Directors. Mr Al Sharrad won KAMCO's Best Employee of the Year award in 2010. He is on the Board of the American Management Association International in New York and holds a BA degree in Management from St. Edwards University, Austin, Texas.


Mohsen Ali Husain Mohsen Ali Husain
Group Chief Internal Auditor

Mr Husain joined KIPCO in 2006. He has wide experience in public accounting and internal auditing and previously held positions with KPMG, Arab Insurance Group, National Bank of Bahrain, Ahli United Bank and United Gulf Bank. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and holds a BSc in Accounting.


Mazen Isam Hawa Mazen Isam Hawa
Group Senior Vice President, Finance and Operations

Mr Hawa joined KIPCO in 2001. He leads KIPCO's finance and operations department and also serves as advisor to a number of KIPCO operating subsidiaries. He is Vice Chairman of Takaud Savings & Pensions and United Networks. He is also a Board member of the United Real Estate Company and Fajr Al Gulf Insurance Company. Prior to joining KIPCO, he worked for Andersen & Co. Mr Hawa is a graduate of the Lebanese American University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from US-based institutions.


Declan Sawey Declan Sawey
Group Treasurer

Mr Sawey joined KIPCO in 2007. He was previously Head of Asset & Liability Management for HBoS Corporate in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has held positions with Gulf Bank of Kuwait, the Kuwait Investment Authority, Ernst & Young, Kuwait and KPMG, London. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.


Robert Drolet Robert Drolet
Senior Vice President, Technology and Media

Mr Drolet joined KIPCO in 2006. He is responsible for the supervision, development and optimization of the company's communications and media portfolio. In this capacity he sits on the executive committees of Orbit Showtime Network and United Networks. He is also KIPCO's lead internal legal counsel on major financing and M&A transactions. Prior to joining KIPCO, Mr Drolet led and advised on turnarounds, M&A transactions and strategic alliances as Chief Executive Officer of Continental Europe and CEO US Communications Solutions and Global Chief Commercial Officer for Cable & Wireless. He previously held senior positions in the UK cable industry and at Bell Canada International. He is a member of the Québec Bar and a Solicitor (England & Wales).


Adel Jassem Al-Waqayan Adel Jassem Al Waqayan
Treasurer

Mr Al Waqayan joined KIPCO in 1995. He was previously a Senior Foreign Exchange dealer with Burgan Bank's Treasury department. He is a Board member of the United Real Estate Company and was Chairman of the Kuwait Financial Markets Association in 2006. Mr Al Waqayan holds an MBA from USI University in the USA.


Robert Hipkins Robert Hipkins
Group Communications Director

Mr Hipkins joined KIPCO in 2007. He has responsibility for KIPCO's corporate communications. He was previously a senior consultant with Hill & Knowlton, one of the world's leading public relations companies. Mr Hipkins has over 25 years experience in public relations and marketing in the UK, the United States, Europe and the Middle East. He began his career as a press officer for the British government. He holds an MSc from Edinburgh University, Scotland.


International office

Iqbal Mohamed Iqbal Mohamed
President, United Gulf Management Inc. Boston, USA

Mr Mohamed joined United Gulf Management Inc., KIPCO's US subsidiary, in 1993. He was initially responsible for overseeing the Group's US real estate investments. He is currently responsible for structuring all Group US investments and supporting Group operating companies in their US connected activities. Mr Mohamed was appointed President in 2008. He previously worked for Arthur Young in London and is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Mr Mohamed is a graduate of Hull University, England.





KIPCO - Work And Beyond

KIPCO was honored by the National Union for Kuwaiti Students – USA Branch for its Platinum Sponsorship of the 28th Conference of NUKS-USA. The conference was held in Beverly Hills, California, in November 2011.

KIPCO Vice Chairman, Mr Faisal Al Ayyar, met with the student representatives and said, “KIPCO is keen on supporting opportunities to develop the leaders of tomorrow. The annual NUKS-USA conference is the largest gathering of Kuwaitis outside our country, and it is an opportunity for us to share our views on the future of Kuwait with these young men and women.”

He added, “As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program, KIPCO will continue to support youth out of its belief in the instrumental role they will go on to play in the advancement of their country.”

The student representatives expressed their appreciation for KIPCO’s support of this annual event which was attended this year by more than 1800 Kuwaitis studying in the United States.
